Free SEO Audit Tool
Enter a website. About a minute later you get 65 real checks across 11 categories, findings sorted by severity, and a report you can download. No email gate, no mystery score, and an honest list of what a free tool can’t measure.
Runs on this page. Free — no email, no signup, no catch.
- 65 checks across 11 categories
- Sitemap crawl up to 200 URLs
- Live results as they run
- Report download included
The audit
HTTPS and redirect chains, indexability, a live sitemap status crawl, broken links, on-page signals, structured data, Core Web Vitals, and more. Results stream in as they run, and the full report is yours to download.
- ~60 seconds to a full report
- Nothing stored — runs on your device
- Honest limits — it says what it can’t check
How to use it
Five steps. Sixty seconds. Zero setup.
- Enter a domain. Yours, a client’s, a competitor’s — any public site works. Hit run.
- Watch it work. The live console streams every check as it happens. No black-box spinner.
- Read the triage. Findings arrive sorted the way a strategist would sort them: Critical first, then High, Medium, Low, and everything that passed.
- Open the sitemap table. The first 50 sitemap URLs get status-checked automatically; tap “Check 50 more” for up to 200. Dead pages and redirects are flagged inline.
- Take it with you. Download the report as a clean HTML file (prints straight to PDF) and the sitemap crawl as a CSV.
What it checks
65 real measurements. Not vibes with a score attached.
01
Technical foundation
HTTPS, redirect chains hop by hop, www and HTTP variants actually probed, robots.txt, mixed content, security headers.
02
Indexability
noindex in meta tags and HTTP headers, canonicals, robots blocking, hreflang validation — plus a soft-404 probe that requests a page that can’t exist and checks what your server does.
03
Sitemap health
A live status crawl of up to 200 URLs: dead entries, redirecting entries, server errors — and a robots.txt rules engine that catches sitemap URLs your own robots file blocks.
04
On-page SEO
Titles and descriptions with length checks, duplicate titles across sampled pages (the classic cannibalization tell), H1s, heading hierarchy, broken internal links.
05
Content signals
Word counts, thin-page detection, identical-body duplicates, HTML weight, DOM size against Lighthouse’s thresholds.
06
Structured data
JSON-LD presence and validity, Organization schema, sameAs entity links — the machinery AI systems use to learn who you are.
07
Performance
Lighthouse mobile scores plus real-user Core Web Vitals (LCP, INP, CLS) from Chrome field data, with the top speed fixes and estimated savings.
08
Trust & AI readiness
About/Contact/Privacy presence, analytics detection, question-form headings, FAQ schema — the extractability signals answer engines feed on.
Straight talk
What it’s great at. Where it honestly stops.
Every tool has limits. Most hide them. We’d rather you know exactly what you’re getting — that’s the whole brand.
The advantages
- No email gate, ever. The full report is free and downloadable before we suggest anything. Most “free” audit tools are lead traps; this one isn’t.
- Runs on your device. The analysis executes in your browser. Nothing about the site you audit gets stored on our servers.
- You watch every check. The live console shows exactly what ran and what it found. No mystery score engineered to scare you.
- Triaged, not dumped. Critical/High/Medium/Low grouping tells you what to fix Monday and what can wait a quarter.
- Rare-in-free features. The sitemap status crawl, the robots-vs-sitemap contradiction check, and the soft-404 probe are things people usually fire up a desktop crawler for.
The honest limits
- No backlink data. Backlink indexes cost real money to build. We won’t show a fake “authority score” derived from nothing.
- No rankings or search volume. That data requires scraping Google (against their terms) or paid APIs. Neither belongs in an honest free tool.
- No Search Console or Analytics. Indexing reports and conversion data need the owner’s authorization — a public tool can’t have it.
- It samples, it doesn’t crawl everything. Homepage deep-dive, four sampled pages, up to 200 sitemap URLs. A 5,000-page site has corners this won’t reach.
- It can’t tell you what to build. A scanner flags what’s broken. It can’t map your demand, spot missing pages, or say which fix produces pipeline. That’s human work.
Free vs. premium
Where this fits next to the paid tools
Ahrefs, Semrush, and Screaming Frog are excellent — if SEO is your job, you’ll want one eventually. Here’s the honest map of what each option is for:
| This tool (free) | Premium suites ($100–500+/mo) | Desktop crawlers | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Technical & on-page checks | 65 checks, instant, in-browser | Deeper, scheduled, historical | Exhaustive, every URL |
| Sitemap status crawl | Up to 200 URLs + robots cross-check | Full site | Full site |
| Core Web Vitals | Lab + real-user data | Sitewide tracking | Lab only |
| Backlinks & rankings | Not offered — honestly | Their core value | No |
| Setup required | None — type a domain | Account + learning curve | Install + configure |
| Cost | $0, no email | $1,200–6,000+/yr | Free tier to ~$260/yr |
Bottom line: this tool fully replaces the “quick technical health check” use case and does the measurable first 20% of an audit for free. It doesn’t replace a backlink index or a full crawl — and no tool at any price replaces the strategy layer: deciding what the findings mean for your revenue.
Why it’s the best free SEO audit tool
“Best” is a big word. Here’s the actual argument.
Most free audit tools fail you one of three ways: they gate the real report behind your email, they compress everything into a single mystery score built to scare you into a sales call, or they pad the results with non-issues so the list looks impressive. This tool was built as the opposite of all three — full report free and downloadable, every finding individually explained and triaged, and an ending section that names what a free tool can’t measure instead of faking it. Add the sitemap crawl, the robots contradiction check, the soft-404 probe, and real-user Core Web Vitals, and the case makes itself. Run it next to any free auditor you like and compare the reports. That test is the whole pitch.
Is it really free? What’s the catch?
Really free — no account, no email, no trial clock, full downloadable report. The “catch” is stated in the open: the report ends by noting what free tools can’t measure (backlinks, rankings, Search Console data, strategy) and offers our paid, human-run Search Growth Audit for that layer. Never click that link and you’ve still gotten everything, free.
What’s the difference between the free tool and the paid Search Growth Audit?
Measurement versus judgment. The free tool tells you what’s verifiably broken — missing canonicals, dead sitemap URLs, slow pages, invalid schema. The paid audit answers what no scanner can: whether you’re targeting the right demand, which competitor is capturing the opportunity you’re missing, which page that doesn’t exist yet would produce pipeline, and what to fix first versus ignore entirely. A site can pass every automated check and still lose its category.
Do you guarantee rankings or AI visibility?
No, and be skeptical of anyone who does — search engines and AI systems control their own results. Google has been explicit that AI search features run on the same core ranking systems as classic search, with no separate optimization that buys placement. What we commit to is the quality of the work and the honesty of the measurement.
Is it safe? What do you store about my site?
The analysis runs in your browser. Our server fetches a handful of public pages — the same pages any visitor or crawler sees — caches them briefly, and stores nothing about you or your results. There’s no database of audited sites, and the tool never logs in to anything.
Why does it PageSpeed-test only one page?
By design. Core Web Vitals testing is the slowest part of any audit, and templates share performance characteristics, so testing every page adds minutes for little new signal. We deep-test the URL you submitted and fast status-check the rest of the sitemap.
Can I audit a competitor’s site?
Yes — any public website, the same way a browser or search crawler reads it. It’s a common way to prep a pitch or sanity-check a rival’s technical footing.
My site scored well. Is my SEO fine?
Your technical and on-page hygiene is solid — genuinely good news, and necessary. But the score can’t tell you whether you’re targeting the right demand, whether competitors are outbuilding you, or why visibility isn’t turning into leads. Those questions need data access and judgment, which is where the human audit picks up.
The tool flagged something I don’t understand. Now what?
Every finding includes a plain-English note on what it means and what to do. Still stuck? Download the report and hand it to your developer — or send it our way with an audit request and a strategist will walk you through it.
Where the tool stops
The tool finds the symptoms.
Here’s the disease.
This tool is built by SerpElevator, a search growth agency for SaaS, AI, and Ecommerce companies. We built it because the measurable layer should be free — but a scanner can’t explain why traffic grows while pipeline stays flat. Three failures show up in almost every organic program we examine, and none of them appears in any automated report:
01
Content that ranks but never qualifies
Informational keywords the buyer never searches, while the comparison and use-case queries — where decisions happen — go to review sites and competitors.
02
Invisible where buyers now ask
AI Overviews and assistants answer category questions daily. If your entity is unclear and nothing citable exists, the answer simply doesn’t include you.
03
Audits that list problems, not priorities
Two hundred warnings, zero sequencing, no commercial read — so teams fix what’s easy while the one real bottleneck stays untouched.
Search Growth Audit
Find the bottleneck.
Find the opportunity.
Not a 100-point checklist. Not an automated score. A strategist reads your entire search system and hands you three things:
- A prioritized findings report — the constraint, separated from the noise
- An opportunity map — the demand you’re not capturing, and who currently is
- A 90-day action plan — sequenced, owned, startable on Monday
Every audit answers seven questions
- What is blocking growth?
- Where is the untapped demand?
- Which competitors are taking it?
- Which pages should exist that don’t?
- What should be fixed first?
- What will likely produce commercial impact?
- What should happen in the next 90 days?
